Assorted photos taken in CPH

The photos in this post are from over a week ago, but better late than never!

I went on a class trip to Copenhagen City Hall for a meeting about sustainability initiatives in the city. It turned out that Copenhagen Fashion Week had just begun, and the runway shows were taking place inside City Hall. Unfortunately, I was unable to get into any of them, but I stole a few shots from upstairs into backstage. It is hard to see, but there are many racks of designer clothing in this photo.

Some models getting made up backstage before the fashion show.

Canal in central Copenhagen. I love the colors of the city!

This is a photo from inside The Black Diamond, the royal library in Copenhagen.

Typical street in Copenhagen: cobblestone, bicycles, puddles, and colorful brick buildings.

Visited the Thorvaldsen Museum, which is dedicated solely to the work of the Danish, neoclassical sculptor Bertel Thorvaldsen.

Inside Thorvaldsen Museum. He is known for his massive, marble sculptures of notable people in European history, and figures from Greek mythology.

In the park near the Little Mermaid statue.
Beautiful swan hanging out by the Little Mermaid statue. My camera died right after I took this photo, so no pictures of the mermaid. I will go back in the spring when there is nicer weather to take more photos.

Danish children are so cute! They frequently go on class walks through the city, and hold hands in two (sometimes straight) lines. They are always bundled in puffy snowsuits, even when there is no snow.

View along the harbor.
